Southeastern Community College baseball put together a competitive weekend series against Robeson Community College, showcasing offensive firepower, early momentum, and continued fight across three games.
Friday's opening matchup saw the Rams' bats come alive early, as SCC stayed aggressive at the plate throughout the game. Suggs provided a spark in the bottom of the third with a solo home run to center field, while Pridgen followed with an RBI double to cut into the deficit. Southeastern continued to apply pressure in the fifth inning, plating five runs highlighted by a two run double from Carmack. Carmack finished the game with two RBIs, while Pridgen led the Rams with two hits.
Later on Friday, Southeastern bounced back with a thrilling 7 to 6 victory to even the day. The Rams jumped out to a fast start in the bottom of the first inning, taking a 3 to 1 lead behind home runs from Suggs, Cassell, and Pridgen. SCC continued to build momentum in the third inning, as Allen and Ruppert each went deep to extend the lead to 7 to 4. After early action on the mound, the Rams' bullpen stepped up in a big way. Ellison, Ramirez, and Stringer combined for strong relief appearances to shut down Robeson the rest of the way and preserve the win. Ruppert led the offense with three RBIs, while Suggs paced the team with two hits.
Saturday's finale featured another hard fought battle, with Southeastern showing early energy and clean defense.
