Rams Open Series With Walk-Off Win, Show Fight Against Richard Bland

Southeastern Community College baseball opened its weekend series against Richard Bland College with a thrilling walk off victory and continued to show resilience throughout a competitive three game set.
Friday’s matchup delivered the highlight of the weekend, as the Rams earned a 12 to 9 walk off win. After Richard Bland tied the game in the top of the ninth, SCC answered in dramatic fashion when Pridgen launched a three run home run to left field to seal the victory.
Southeastern set the tone early with an explosive eight run third inning, highlighted by a grand slam from Cassell. Cassell finished the night with four RBIs and three hits, while Steed added a solo home run in the sixth. The Rams totaled 14 hits and played a clean game defensively without committing an error.
Saturday’s doubleheader featured two hard fought games against a strong Richard Bland lineup. In the first contest, Pridgen provided an early spark with a two run home run in the opening inning. The Rams stayed aggressive at the plate, collecting nine hits as Cassell and Pridgen combined for four.
In the series finale, Southeastern jumped out to an early lead in the first inning and continued to battle throughout the game. Allen led the offense with four hits from the leadoff spot, while Soles added a solo home run. SCC finished the game with nine hits and consistent pressure at the plate.
The Rams will return home this weekend to take on Robeson Community College, with games scheduled for Friday, February 20 at 12 pm and 3:30 pm, and Satuday, February 21 at 12 pm. Fans are encouraged to come out and support the Rams. Tickets are $10, and SCC students receive free admission with a valid student ID.
