Rams show Resilience vs Pitt CC
The Southeastern Community College Rams battled through a competitive weekend series, delivering timely hitting and steady pitching performances across three games. From clutch RBIs to strong outings on the mound, the Rams continued to show resilience and offensive firepower as they looked to carry that momentum into a busy week of home games.
The Rams opened the series on Friday afternoon when Carmack hit an RBI single to drive in Ruppert in the 4th inning. Allen and Soles both added doubles to spark the Rams offense, ans Suggs gave the Rams a solid start on the mound, going 4.1 innings and only allowing 2.1 earned runs.
The Rams showcased more offense during game 2 of the series on Saturday. Pridgen started a big 4th inning for the Rams with an RBI double, Steed followed up with an RBI single. Later in the inning Soles scored on a wild pitch and Suggs put one into the stands to plate 2 more runs for the Rams. Mathis had a good appearance coming out of the bullpen throwing 3 innings and allowing only 1 run while striking out 3. The Rams collected 9 hits in total, with Steed and Pridgen leading the way collecting 2 each.
The Rams stayed competitive in the series finale. Gerard led the way with 3 hits, including a solo homerun. The Rams got down early and fought their way back into the game, scoring in 3 of the last 4 innings. They rallied in the 9th thanks to RBIs from Allen and Ruppert, in total they collected 9 hits.
The Rams will host Rockingham CC on Wednesday, March 11 at 2:00 PM. They then host Garrett College on Thursday, March 12 at 2:00 PM. The Rams will host Bryant and Stratton College for a 3 game set this weekend. Games 1 and 2 will take place on Saturday, March 14 at 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM. With game 3 set for Sunday, March 15 at 12:00 PM.
