Rams show off their offense against RBC
The Rams brought intensity to the field in a competitive weekend series, delivering strong performances at the plate and on the mound against Richard Bland.
The Rams played with grit and energy in a great series against Richard Bland College on March 28th and 29th.
The Rams got on the board early in Game 1, when Soles cleared the fence with a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning. Sutherland then extended the early lead with an RBI single of his own in the third inning. Pridgen also managed to ground into an RBI fielder's choice in the 6th inning which led to Reyes stealing home the very next play. Guerrero was efficient on the mound for the Rams, he managed to go 4.1 innings only allowing 4 hits. Doty also had a good outing, going 3 innings and allowing 0 runs on 1 hit out of the bullpen. The Rams managed to total 9 hits on offense, with Reyes leading the way with 3 of his own.
Suggs had a good start on the mound for the Rams in Game 2, going 5.1 innings and striking out 9 hitters. Pridgen gave him some run support in the second inning, blistering a ball to right-center field for a 2 run double. Reyes followed up by driving in Pridgen on an RBI single. Reyes led the way for the Rams offense again collecting 3 more hits to give him 6 on the day.
The Rams bounced back well on Sunday afternoon by scoring in each of the first 3 innings. Thompson drove in the first run of the game with an RBI single in the first, and Allen followed up with a 2-run homerun to dead center field in the second inning. Allen continued to stay hot at the plate by driving in a run via fielder's choice, which set up Thompson for a steal of home and another run for the Rams. McBride gave the Rams a great start on the mound, going 5.1 innings only allowing 3 runs and striking out 8. Mathis was solid for the Rams out of the pen, going 2.2 innings only allowing 1 earned run. He handed the ball off to Stringer in the ninth and Stringer was able to close the door and earn his second save of the year. The Rams totaled 14 hits with Pridgen, Steed, and Thompson all collecting 3.
