Rams show fight in weekend series vs Pitt CC
The Rams had a tough weekend against Pitt CC, but they battled hard, playing with energy in all 3 games.
Game 1 started with a good pitching performance from Nathan Pedrick. He took the mound for the Rams to start the series and threw well. He managed to strike out 5 batters in 4 innings of work and gave the Rams a chance to win. The Rams had a couple of solid performances from hitters as well. Braden Soles was able to work his way on base twice via the walk, and Jeremiah Thompson was able to put a ball into the stands in the 5th inning for a grand slam.
The Rams were eager to bounce back in game 2 and were able to put together some good at-bats. The Rams scored first in the game thanks to a solo home run from Jeremiah Thompson. Later in the inning, Jordan Hester doubled to right field to score another run. The Rams battled back and forth and showed fight, putting up a 5-run 7th inning. Jordan Hester started the scoring with a solo homerun to center, and Reynell Reyes, Cade Allen, and Jeremiah Thompson all drew RBI walks. The last run of the inning came via a sacrifice fly from Nikita Sutherland. The Rams totaled 9 hits. Aiden McBride, Dylan Tilson, and Tito Guerrero had a good outing from the bullpen, combining for 4 innings and only 1 earned run allowed.
The Rams got to work early in game 3, thanks to an RBI single from both Jordan Hester and Cade Allen. The Rams had another good inning in the second when Jeremiah Thompson drew a walk with the bases loaded to bring in a run for the Rams. Braden Soles followed up with an RBI Single of his own, and Owen Pridgen was able to score on a throwing error. To finish off the 5-run inning for the Rams, Jordan Hester collected 2 more RBIs on a single to right field. Noah Britt also had a good performance for the Rams out of the bullpen. The lefty came in and set down all 3 batters he faced in his 1 inning of work.
The Rams return to action this week on Tuesday, April 21, at home against Brunswick CC. Gametime is set for 1:00 PM. Then, the Rams hit the road for a 3-game set with Bryant and Stratton CC this weekend. Games 1 and 2 are set for Friday, April 24, at 3:30 and 6:00 PM, and Game 3 will take place on Saturday, April 25, at 3:30 PM.
