SCC Softball Commit Chloe Chavis Helps Leads Purnell Swett to Robeson County Slugfest Championship Title
Southeastern Community College Softball is excited to highlight 2026 commit Chloe Chavis following an outstanding performance in the annual Robeson County Slugfest, a competitive high school tournament that brings together top programs from across the county to compete for an early-season championship during Easter break.
Chavis played a key role in leading Purnell Swett High School to the 2026 Robeson County Slugfest title, helping her team go undefeated through three games. Throughout the tournament, she consistently made an impact both at the plate and on the base paths.
In three games, Chavis went 4-for-8, batting an impressive .500, while adding two walks, three RBIs, and two doubles. Her ability to get on base and create scoring opportunities proved to be a major factor in her team’s success.
“Chloe brings incredible energy to our team every single day,” said Purnell Swett head coach Amy Lancaster. “She’s aggressive in everything she does, especially on the base paths, and plays the game with relentless effort. She sets the tone by starting each game day with a positive message for her teammates and gives 100% on every play. When we need someone to step up at the plate or make something happen, Chloe is the one we count on.”
Chavis’ performance is a strong reflection of the type of player she will be at the next level, and the Rams softball program is excited to welcome her to Southeastern Community College this fall. Her competitiveness, leadership, and work ethic will make an immediate impact as the program continues to build for the future.
Congratulations to Chloe Chavis and Purnell Swett High School Softball on being named 2026 Robeson County Slugfest Champions.
